Zac is a Texas boy who ran for the hills quite literally. After fledging a tumultuous nest, he attended CSU, earning what was in reality a major in mountain climbing. Though his transcripts may say something to the effect of a BS in Business Administration. Many adventures and lessons later, his focus shifted from climbing these beautiful piles of rocks to using them as a means of personal growth. He works to involve the community in expeditionary experiences that foster meaningful improvement.

Zac understands through personal experience what it means to take the long way around. He values shared experience as a means to build confidence and a sense of independence. Empathy, trust and having a whole lot of fun are at the core of his mentoring style. Outside of the mountains, Zac loves playing music, is a car enthusiast, enjoys woodworking and is a total foodie.

What was your favorite class in school (k-grad school)? Music theory

Who was your favorite band growing up? Metallica

Name your 3 favorite jobs you’ve had? Mountain guiding was the favorite, but also campervan building & raft photography

What do you love doing more than anything else in the world? Climbing high altitude peaks with my bestest of friends

What’s your favorite food? Mexican food and all of its wonderful American variations

Chocolate or vanilla? Text or phone call? I love mixing them together, phone calls over texting

Your greatest accomplishment? Skiing (or more accurately ice skating) from the summit of Denali

What do you know now that you wish you knew then? Meditation helps everything

What did you want to be when you grew up? A soccer player
