Will B. CACII

Will B
CACII

At a young age, Will recognized that people were drawn to him – he had a natural gift in allowing people to be heard while using his own experiences to be of service. He knew that helping others was his path. Life took him on many turns and eventually lead him to an addiction of his own although he found recovery with the clarity he received from being outside, being of service, and deep self-reflection. His recovery and natural gift of helping others eventually moved him in the direction of working with people in a more formal way.

Will started his journey in the therapeutic world when he was 18 years old as an intern at a Wilderness Therapy program in West Virginia; the experience was life-changing. Since then, working in the outdoors and helping others has been a major part of his life. Beginning in 2007, he seasonally worked as a field guide in wilderness therapy, working with ages 10-18. Because of working in wilderness therapy, Will was drawn to working with young people with addiction challenges. This eventually lead him to working at a counseling center in Boulder both in a group and private setting and finally at Expand Mentoring. In the last few years, Will has completed his CACII (Certified Addiction Counselor), continuing his education in the counseling realm.

Will draws from his own experience and relates his knowledge to those he works with. He has a gift in helping the clients he works with determine their passions and next steps in life. He is easy to talk to, empathetic, and compassionate with all people and holds an ability to genuinely connect and guide people in discovering what they need. Due to his unique outlook on life, Will takes “the road less traveled” and likes to excel and move forward. Will is genuinely passionate about helping clients become more connected to their true selves while finding their passion.
